The Indonesian Army will soon receive six Russian-made Mi-35 fighting helicopters to strengthen its armament, national Antara News Agency reported on Tuesday.
"Our test team returned from Russia yesterday (Monday). They went to check the helicopters' final preparedness," Army Chief of Staff Gen Agustadi Sasongko Purnomo said on the sidelines of the Indonesian military's joint exercise in East Kalimantan on Tuesday.
The six helicopters would be delivered in stages starting from June to October 2008, he said.
Indonesia bought two similar helicopters, delivered in September 2003.
