Thailand's Interior Minister Chalerm Yoobamrung on Wednesday expressed readiness to switch his portfolio if deemed necessary by the prime minister.
"I detect no sign about changing my job but everything will depend on the prime minister," he was quoted by local news network The Nation as saying.
Chalerm said he read in news reports that he might receive a new assignment either as public health minister or justice minister.
He said the prime minister has a complete discretion to keep him in office or reassign him.
Earlier, Thailand's Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej said that he planned to conduct a major cabinet reshuffle after three minister, including Prime Minister's Office Minister Jakrapob Penkair, Public Health Minister Chaiya Sasomsup, Foreign Minister Noppadon Pattama, have been forced to step down facing different charges or convictions.
Samak said more than 10 ministerial portfolios -- almost one-third of the government's ministers -- will be changed in the major reshuffle. Source:Xinhua
