A blast which happened at 4:50 p.m.(1120 GMT) Saturday at Bankshall Street in Central Colombo, caused minor injuries to three people.
Dr Hector Weerasinghe of the Director National Hospital said that all the three were out of danger.
An improvised explosive device caused the blast.
Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara, the military spokesman, told reporters that the bomb was fixed into a small van parked by the roadside at Bankshall Street.
Nanayakkara warned people to be vigilant as Tamil Tigers facing defeat in the battle field would resort to such action.
