The visiting Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari vowed Tuesday to jointly fight militancy and terrorists with Afghanistan.
"Both countries are fighting together against terrorism promoted by non-state actors," Zardari told newsmen at a joint press conference with his Afghan counterpart Hamid Karzai.
Zardari also emphasized that both countries "will not fall victim to their designs. We will cooperate to control stateless actors trying to create problems."
Zardari, widower of former Pakistani Primer Minister Benazir Bhutto who was allegedly assassinated by Taliban extremists in late December 2007, stressed that two neighbouring states adopt common stance to fight against terrorism jointly.
Earlier the day, Karzai described the relations between Kabul and Islamabad as friendly and hoped Zaradri's visit would help further cement bilateral relations.
During the visit a joint declaration on Direction of Bilateral Cooperation was signed by foreign ministers of the two countries, stressing for widely cooperation in war on extremism, terrorism and developing trade and economy.
The declaration noted that both Kabul and Islamabad agreed "to further develop a joint comprehensive strategy for combating terrorism" and "to remain fully engaged with other frameworks of cooperation between the two countries".
The two sides also agreed to cooperate for complete eradication of Narcotics and drugs including their production, consumption and trafficking from the region.
This is the first official visit of Zardari to Afghanistan as president. He was warmly welcomed by Afghan government as 21 gun salutes were fired in his honour with all the streets in Kabul being decorated with Pakistan national flags and his portraits.
