Thailand's Election Commission (EC) on Wednesday resolved to seek the Constitution Court to disqualify a deputy public health minister for constitutional violation.
Thailand's constitution has prohibited cabinet members from holding shares in any company, which has been granted a state concession and linked to media business.
The deputy public health minister, Manit Nop-a-morn-bo-di, has been found disqualified as he holds shares in firms, which have been granted a state concession and linked to media business, Thai News Agency reported.
Hence, the EC has now prepared to forward its resolution to the Constitution Court, which will make a final rule on Manit's case.
Manit is a member of the coalition Bhum-jai-thai Party.
