Six people were killed and another six injured early Tuesday when a speeding sports utility vehicle rammed into an electric pole in northern Philippines, local newspaper Philippine Star reported on its website.
The tragedy happened around 4 a.m. in Cavite province in Philippines' Luzon region, when the SUV, a Toyota Prado, rammed into an electric pole in the area, local ranking police officer Marcos Badilla was quoted as saying.
"They were driving someone home. Some of the passengers and the driver were drunk," Badilla said in a radio interview.
