Among the foreign countries to send their war ships are the United States, Australia and Singapore. Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is scheduled to attend the peak of the event in Ambon, the capital city of Maluku province, on Aug. 2 and 3.
"The readiness of security forces should continue to be stepped up to anticipate potentials to disturb stability and security so that Sail Banda can proceed successfully," Antara news wire quoted the military commander as saying.
