Captain Benhur Gomez, owner of the Cessna plane that crashed, said in a radio interview, the two people aboard the plane were " licensed pilots going into commercial pilot training."
The crashed plane was one of the three aircraft that was flown by student pilots for their commercial flight training.
Gomez assured the public that the two pilots were not harmed in the incident, and that it was not uncommon for such accidents to happen during training.
