Clashes between police, protestors claim two lives in Pakistan

Two people were killed in clashes between police and angry people who were protesting against power outage in eastern Pakistan's Punjab province on Wednesday, a police officer said.
The protest blocked motorway and the grand trunk road between the capital Islamabad and the northwestern city of Peshawar.
Hundreds of angry people clashed with the police when the demonstrators tried to torch officer of the power supply company at the city of Attock.
The police fired into the air to disperse the demonstrators and the people also threw stones at the police.
Police confirmed that two people died during the protest. Hundreds of vehicles stranded on two roads as traffic blocked for hours.
In some parts of the country, the infrastructure has been ravaged and the power and water supply have been hindered by the worst floods, which so far have killed 1,540 people and left 20 million people homeless.
