Indonesia is expected to reach most of Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) targets in 2015 by increasing performance, a vice minister said in Jakarta on Thursday.
Lukita Dinarsyah Tuwo, Vice Minister for National Development Planning, told a seminar that some of MDGs indicators have been reached nationally that must be maintained.
However, he said, Indonesia needs to work harder to decrease maternal mortality, to control HIV/AIDS and to increase land coverage.
"We need to work harder to achieve target of decreasing maternal mortality of 102 per 100,000 births," he said.
Tuwo also said that number of people with HIV/AIDS increased, especially among drugs addicts and sexual workers.
He added that Indonesia still has a high greenhouse gas emission.
He said that there are three targets that have been already achieved, which is reducing extreme poverty, gender equality and tuberculosis control.
