Indonesia to send more aids to Pakistan

Indonesia plans to send an additional of 2 million U.S. dollars funds along with medical men and armed forces personnel to help flood victims in Pakistan, a minister said on Tuesday.

Coordinating Minister for People's Welfare Agung Laksono said that the dispatch of humanitarian assistance was part of Indonesian solidarity to the victims in the country.

"We will send a cash of 2 million U.S. dollars along with National Defense Forces (TNI) personnel and medical personnel," Laksono said.

He said a 45-member group consisting of medical personnel, TNI personnel, and National Board of Disaster Mitigation personnel would soon be sent to Pakistan.

Earlier this month, Indonesia sent food and medicine to Pakistan valued at 1.3 million U.S. dollars, Laksono was quoted by Antara news wire as saying.

He said the first assistance was made up of among others 4,000 pieces of blanket, 500 packages of canned food, 3 tons of medicine, and 50 tons baby food.
