Canadian soldier killed in explosion in Afghanistan |

A Canadian military medic was killed by an explosion during a foot patrol in southern Afghanistan, the Defense Ministry said Monday.
The blast occurred early Sunday morning in the Panjwaii district near Kandahar city. The soldier was airlifted to a hospital but did not survive.
He is the 87th Canadian soldier to be killed in Canada's Afghan mission that started in 2002.
Canadian experts say the death is another indication of the worsening security situation in Afghanistan.
