U.S. President George W. Bush said Tuesday that withdrawing all U.S. combat troops from Iraq is the goal, but he rejected setting any timetable.

Responding to a question at a White House press conference, Bush said whoever succeeds him next January, he shall listen to the "commanders, diplomats and Iraqis" before making any new decisions on Iraq.

Iraq has become a central topic in the U.S. presidential campaign this week.

Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama is delivering a speech on Iraq, saying the war is a distraction of U.S. anti-terrorism efforts and calling for shifting focus to Afghanistan.
