Mexico extradites 132nd fugitive to U.S. since late 2006

Mexico has extradited drug dealer James Brent Bradley Montemayor to the United States, Mexico's general attorney's office said on Tuesday.

The move added the total number of people that have been extradited overseas to 138, 132 of them to the United States, since the administration of President Felipe Calderon took office in late 2006.

Bradley, arrested by Mexican police on Nov. 21, 2000, was accused of smuggling marijuana into the United States and will be judged by a U.S. court in Oklahoma, the general attorney's office said in a statement.

He was sentenced to years of imprisonment in the northern Mexican state of Tamaulipas under charges of possessing, sowing and harvesting marijuana.
