The White House said on Wednesday President George W. Bush is considering a speech to the nation about the current financial crisis.

White House spokeswoman Dana Perino told reporters Bush might deliver a formal speech to the country on the economy as he has been trying to answer many questions and concerns Americans have.

She warned that the United States might be facing "financial calamity" if the Congress could not take bold and decisive actions to deal with the turmoil.
