U.S. Vice President-elect Joe Biden said on Tuesday that he has chosen a journalist from the Time Magazine to serve as his communications chief.
"I have long admired Jay Carney's astute understanding of national affairs as well as foreign policy matters," Biden said in a statement.
"I am certain that his counsel and leadership will be invaluable in the years to come," he said of his choice.
Carney, who was assigned by the Time to Moscow, is currently the Washington bureau chief for the magazine.
In an interview with MSNBC earlier this year, he described Biden as someone who is smart but "sometimes says wrong thing at the wrong time."
As a communication chief, Carney is expected to work with Biden's communication director in the Senate, Elizabeth Alexander, as his press secretary. Source:Xinhua
