Rains kill 42 in Nicaragua

In Nicaragua a total of 2,196 have gone to shelters, 1,371 of them in
Managua, Nicaragua's capital, brigadier general Mario Perezcassar said on Sunday.
Perezcassar said that they have established 25 shelters to protect the people threatened by the pouring rains.
The Nicaraguan Institute of Territorial Studies (Ineter) has forecasted that the rains will continue affecting the region, so the Civil Defense authorities called on the evacuated people to stay in the shelters for several months.
