Macedonia reorganized voting on Sunday at 187 polling stations which allegedly saw irregularities during the June 1 general elections.
Around 160,000 people are to cast their ballots at the affected polling stations, mostly in ethnic Albania-populated areas.
The June 1 poll was marred by irregularities and violence, leaving one man shot dead and eight others wounded in separate incidents.
Sunday's voting will not change results of the first round of elections, in which Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski had won by a landslide 48.2 percent, enough to give him a majority in the country's 120 seat parliament.
Gruevksi needs to find an Albanian political party for co-governing by convention. Ethnic Albanians make up about a quarter of Macedonia's population of 2.1 million.
However, Gruevksi has threatened to go it alone without an Albanian partner if there is a repeat of violence at the re-run.
"Individuals in certain parts of Macedonia brought shame to the country on June 1, and the violence has done great damage to the country," Gruevksi said.
He said his party would not enter into coalition with a party that wins through irregularities, even if it means "we do not have an Albanian partner."
