There is no need to send more troops to Afghanistan to join the Polish contingent there, Defense Minister Bogdan Klich said on Monday.

"Over the last three months we had no signals requiring another decision on sending more troops," Klich was quoted by Polish news agency PAP as saying.

Klich said that in January there would be an inspection of the Polish contingent, "so in February we would be able to say more on the subject."

The Polish contingent in Afghanistan numbers 1,600 soldiers.
