Poland's National Defense Ministry is mulling sending more troops to Afghanistan but no decisions have been taken as yet, ministry's spokesman Robert Rochowicz said on Wednesday.
"The decision will be taken after evaluation of incoming analyses of the functioning of Polish forces in one province in Afghanistan," Polish news agency PAP quoted Rochowicz as saying.
Poland's Defense Minister Bogdan Klich told Gazeta Wyborcza daily that the number of Polish troops in Afghanistan should be increased from the present 1,600 to 2,000-2,200.
The Polish government is due to discuss participation of Polish troops in military missions next week, according to PAP.
