Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said Tuesday that foreign teachers should not be exotic in Russia, claiming more possibilities should be given for teachers exchange programs in the country.
"One of the key principals for professional education development is its steadiness...We need additional programs on teachers retraining, including the international cooperation experience," Medvedev said as quoted by the RIA Novosti news agency.
He also stressed the importance of foreign training programs for Russian teachers in the world's best educational institutions.
According to the president, despite the possibilities provided by the Internet, nothing would substitute direct communications between teachers and students.
