Russia to lift ban on satellite photo mapping

According to Russian federal space agency Roscosmos, the limitations will be lifted for photo mapping with the details smaller than two meters in size.
In 2006, then Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov announced the lifting of restrictions on the satellite images resolution. However, Roscosmos has not issued a permission for mapping until now.
Many regions of Russia have currently been blurred on the maps made of satellite images due to military demands.
