Three terror suspects were arrested in Amsterdam on Tuesday morning, the Dutch public prosecution said in a statement.
The three men of 25, 26 and 28 years, suspected of involvement in international terrorism, were arrested at the request of Belgium. "Suspects arrested in Belgium, Germany and Austria simultaneously," the statement said.
According to the Dutch public prosecution, an international terrorist group is planning to commit an attack in Belgium. However, the purpose of this attack had yet to be determined. In addition, the research focused on recruiters, candidate Chechen fighters and funding a terrorist organization, the Caucasian Emirate.
Belgium has requested the surrender of the three suspects arrested in Amsterdam, and this procedure is dealt with by local prosecution in Amsterdam.
