Passenger flight makes emergency landing in Ukraine

A passenger plane belonging to Ukrainian-Mediterranean Airlines, flying from the Iranian capital of Tehran to Kiev has made an emergency landing at Simferopol airport in southern Ukraine because of an engine failure early Friday.
"Nobody on the board was injured or killed during the emergency landing," said the Ukrainian Emergencies Ministry on its official website.
The Kiev-bound plane with 74 passengers and 7 crewmembers was approaching Crimea when the pilot detected a problem with an engine which is responsible for flight safety. The plane landed securely in Simferopol about 7:04 a.m local time.
The Ministry of Emergencies at the moment doesn't have the information what caused the problems with the engine.
