Some Pro-Palestinian activists will return to the Gaza Strip on Sept. 22, the Free Gaza Movement said in an e-mail sent to Xinhua Thursday.
The purpose of the trip, said the U.S-based organization, is to demonstrate that the sea lanes between Gaza and the rest of the world have been permanently opened after their "siege-breaking" voyage in late August.
The activists will help deliver mails from those who have family or friends in Gaza and those who like to get to know someone in Gaza to the Hamas-ruled enclave, added the organization.
"Currently, all mails sent to Palestinians from abroad must first be delivered to Israel. Mails are regularly blocked by Israel and prevented from being delivered to people in Gaza. We believe that the mails must go through, so we are going to take the mails with us," read the e-mail.
On Aug. 28, international activists who sailed to Gaza in defiance of an Israeli blockade left the strip, promising the Gazans that they would come back.
During their five-day stay in the impoverished territory, the 40-odd human rights and peace activists from 17 countries delivered some 200 hearing aids to local children, participated in several protests against the "siege on Gaza," and accompanied Gazan fishermen to waters out of the Israel-imposed fishing limit.
