Thirty-seven people left Jordan to visit families who were held in Israeli jails, an official with Jordan's Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday.
Director of the Foreign Ministry's Consular Department Ahmed Mubaideen said, 17 Jordanians jailed in Israel can meet their families, while families of other prisoners were residing in the West Bank.
He added that Israel allowed entry to only 37 persons of the prisoners' families.
Families of the prisoners expressed appreciation for efforts exerted by the government to facilitate the visit before Eid Al Adha, a major Islamic festival.
This is the third visit since the signing of the Jordanian-Israeli peace treaty in 1994, according to Mubaideen, who noted that the first visit was in 1999 and the second in 2006.
