Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and his Ecuadorean counterpart Rafael Correa Delgado called for the expansion of ties between the two countries, Iran's official IRNA news agency reported.
In a joint press conference here on Saturday, the visiting Ecuadorean president said "We are determined to consolidate the current friendship" with Iran.
Referring to the growing relationships between two countries, especially those of the commerce, Delgado said the embassies of the two countries would be opened in Tehran and Quito in the near future.
Meanwhile, Ahmadinejad highlighted the potentials in the cooperation between the two countries in a number of areas, including the international issues, economic and industrial projects, energy, banking, tourism, technological-know-how, electricity and water.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran sees no limit to transfer its invaluable achievement and experience to Ecuador," he added.
The ministers of oil, mines, agriculture and defense of the two countries also discussed relevant issues in separate meetings, according to IRNA.
Developing the joint economic commission was emphasized by two sides as a help to "implement the agreements already signed between the two countries."
