Newspaper: Egypt's new ambassador to Baghdad within days

Egypt's new ambassador to Iraq Sherif Shahin is to travel to Baghdad within days, Al-Ahram daily reported on Wednesday.

Egyptian Foreign Minster Ahmed Abul-Gheit said on Tuesday that the new ambassador to Iraq will officially launch his tour of duty in Baghdad this week.

Abul-Gheit added that the appointment of the new Egyptian ambassador in Iraq reflects Egypt's support for Iraqi government and people to overcome the difficulties they are currently facing.
