Lebanese Druze leader Walid Jumblat on Monday called for dialogue among political factions in order to defuse rising tensions.
Jumblat told Al Anbaa newspaper that dialogue is the only way to preserve "calmness" in Lebanon.
"For those who forget, let's remember that we were talking to each other at the peak of political divisions and the period of sharp tensions," said the Lebanese MP.
"Why don't we return to dialogue in order to prevent Lebanon from sliding again toward divisions and sectarian tension," he added.
Jumblat said that the capability to return to dialogue is possible if the factions showed the "political will."
Tension is rising in Lebanon after the Shiite armed group Hezbollah warned of accusing some of its members in the killing of the late Prime Minister Rafic Hariri in 2005.
the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) is investigating the assassination of Hariri, and its first official indictment is supposed to be released in the few next months.
