A nine-year-old British girl drowned during a white-water rafting trip in southwestern Turkey on Thursday, the semi-official Anatolia news agency reported.
The girl was thrown into the water when the boat carrying her and some 12 other tourists overturned on a wild part of the Dalaman River in the Mugla province, the report said.
The girl's body was found trapped in rocks, the report said, adding her 12-year-old brother was injured in the accident.
The British tourist group came to Dalaman from the resort town of Fethiye, officials were quoted as saying.
Situated between the Aegean Sea and the Mediterranean, Turkey is a popular holiday destination for Europeans with its southern and southwestern coastal towns.
