Iran's Intelligence Ministry said eight terrorists, involved in the December 15 suicide bomb attack in southeastern city of Chabahar, were arrested on Thursday, the official IRNA news agency reported on Friday.

A source at the Intelligence Ministry said the terrorists were rounded up in the cities of Chabahar, Nikshahr and Kenrak in southeastern Sistan-Balouchestan province, said the report.

The Ministry also said two more terrorists, planning to detonate bombs in southern and eastern parts of the country, were identified. One of them was killed in clashes with the Intelligence Ministry staff, while the other one was arrested as he tried to flee the country, according to the report.

In the deadly suicide bomb attack in Iran's Chabahar city on Wednesday, 39 were killed and more than 50 others wounded when local Muslims gathered for a mourning ceremony.

The Pakistan-based Sunni rebel group Jundallah (God' s soldiers) has claimed responsibility for the deadly attack.
