Mauritanian ousted Prime Minister Yahya Ould Ahmed El Waghef was re-arrested Thursday in the northern port city of Nouadhibou, according to news reaching here from Noukchott, the capital of Mauritania.
Mauritania's official newspaper Horizons told Xinhua that Waghef was re-detained for defying the State Council's regulations to leave Noukchott without permission.
Waghef planned to attend a demonstration in Nouadhibou against leaders of the Aug. 6 coup that ousted and arrested President SidiMohamed Ould Cheikh Abdallahi and Waghef.
