Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS) Corporation, said Tuesday its earnings declined in the second quarter this year.
Net earnings were 404.0 million dollars, or 55 cents per diluted share, compared with 781.7 million dollars, or 1.02 dollars per diluted share, for the second quarter of 2006.
Revenues of 3.4 billion dollars for the second quarter of 2007 decreased 3 percent from 3.5 billion dollars for the same quarter last year.
Operating income before depreciation and amortization of 859.4 million dollars and operating income of 749.9 million dollars for the second quarter of 2007 remained flat with 858.9 million dollars and 750.3 million dollars.
For the first six months of 2007, revenues of 7.03 billion dollars decreased 26 million dollars from the same prior-year period, as growth at publishing and outdoor was offset by declines at radio and television.
