China's Minister of Commerce Chen Deming called Germany to expand co-op with Chinese service industry during the 14th meeting of the China-Germany Joint Economic Committee held in Berlin on November 10. The meeting was co-chaired by China's Minister of Commerce Chen Deming and Germany's Federal Minister of Economics and Technology Michael Glos.
Both sides exchanged opinions on issues of mutual concern, including Sino-German and Sino-European economic and trade ties, the global economic situation and the Doha Round talks.

He hopes that the German economic community will remain confident and continue to expand their economic and trade cooperation with China.
The minister also put forward four proposals: Firstly, capitalizing on opportunities presented by the rapid growth of China's service sector, expand cooperation with the Chinese service industry; Secondly, expand trade and investments in China's central and western regions; Thirdly, based on the notable achievements that large German companies have made regarding their Chinese investments, expand cooperation with China's small and medium-sized enterprises; and lastly, increase opportunities for growth in the fields of environmental protection and sustainable development.
