The flight safety record of China Southern Airlines Group reached 7.72 million hours, or 134 months, at the end of 2010 -- no other of China's civilian airlines has such a long period without a safety incident.
"Although we have been flying safely for 12 years, we are always on our guard, which is an important reason that we can keep our record," said Tan Wangeng, general manager of Southern Airlines Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the Southern Airlines Group.
The number of passengers who flew with Southern Airlines totaled 76.5 million in 2010, up 15.4 percent year on year, due to the large amount of visitors to the Shanghai Expo and the Asian Games, said Si Xianmin, general manager of the group.
