Farmers are anxiously waiting for business.
At Shangqiu agricultural products wholesale center, the largest one at this junction of Henan, Shandong, Jiangsu, and Anhui Provinces, more than 300 vehicles full of watermelons are parked in the fruit and vegetable district with very few consumers. Watermelon that could be sold at 1 yuan per kilogram before, are now sold at no more than 0.7 yuan after it rained for several days. The sales volume also declined, which has left the farmers helpless.
