Indonesian Finance Minister Sri Mulyani predicted Thursday that the inflation rate would be below 4 percent, or lower than the government's initial assumption 4.5 percent set in the temporary state budget 2010.

"The low annual inflation rate this year is affected by the lowering public purchase," the minister was quoted by the Detik.com as saying after attending a meeting with the president in the presidential palace.

She said that inflation rate in October this year stood at 0.19 percent with calendar-basis inflation rate from January to October at 2.48 percent, while year-on-year inflation rate stood at 2.57 percent.
