Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva urged at the Common Market of the South (Mercosur) Summit Tuesday to "investigate" and "study" the food and energy markets.
Da Silva asked "what is true behind those speculations?"
"The prices for the future also mark the prices, for example, the price the soya has today," and he affirmed that in his country he has formed a team of investigators and scholars "to investigate the issue" because "truly, I do not have much clarity" on that point.
Form this position and due to the doubts that Da Silva said he has, he urged his "counterparts" to deeply "study and analyze" the situation "to fix strong, solid and common positions" that will be helpful to a whole region.
The 35th summit of the Mercosur opened on Monday in Tucuman, north of Argentina. Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay formed Mercosur in 1991 with the aim of creating a South American common market. Chile, Bolivia, Ecuador, Colombia and Peruare member states. Source:Xinhua
