Dollar at mid-97 yen level in morning session |

The U.S. dollar traded at the mid-97 yen level Thursday morning in Tokyo after plunging to a seven-month low at the lower 97 yen level at one point in New York overnight.
At noon, the dollar fetched 97.45-50 yen versus 97.62-72 yen in New York and 99.29-31 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
The euro traded at 1.2785-2790 dollars and 124.63-68 yen compared with 1.2850-2860 dollars and 125.53-63 yen in New York and 1.2865-2867 dollars and 127.74-78 yen in Tokyo late Wednesday.
