A total of 19 infrastructure projects have been recognized as "most creative" by an independent jury and awarded with Be Inspired prizes here Wednesday.

The winning projects include Marina Bay Sands Integrated Resort in Singapore and Jiangxia 500 kv Transformer Substation in Wuhan, central China's Hubei Province.

The annual competition brings together professionals and members of the academic community to advance innovation in the design, delivery, and operations of infrastructure and to promote the work of the architects, engineers, geospatial professionals, and organizations that help sustain the world's infrastructure.

Altogether 56 finalists from 45 countries gave presentations on their projects and discussed the best practices and innovations that made these projects possible.

These projects were submitted by Bentley software users, and the winning projects were chosen by a jury of independent experts for their unique approach and application of technology, as they address the most critical issues of sustaining infrastructure.

Since its inception in 2004, the Be Inspired Awards program has recognized more than 1,000 of the world's most outstanding infrastructure projects.
