US biological fuel producer LanzaTech announced Tuesday it signed a memorandum of understanding with Henan Coal and Chemical Industrial Corporation (HNCC), one of the coutry's coal giants, and the two sides will cooperate to produce ethanol fuel as well as chemical products.
The two will set up a research center for the development, pilot production and commercialization of the technology. Details were not disclosed.
Established in 2005, LanzaTech specializes in using bacteria to biologically ferment waste industrial gases into useful products such as ethanol and adopting the technology into business.
