Ace Zimbabwe woman tennis player Cara Black and her South African partner Liezel Huber have confidently taken their place in the Wimbledon women's doubles third round with a straight-set victory over American Bethanie Mattek and Bryanne Stewart of Australia.
Seeded second at the third Grand Slam of the year, Black and Huber, the 2005 Wimbledon doubles champions, posted a straight foward 6-3, 6-3 victory over Mattek and Stewart in their rain-interrupted second round tie, according to the Herald on Wednesday.
To reach the second round at the All England Club, Black and Huber, who are vying for their second Grand Slam title of the year after their success at the Australian Open in January, laboured to beat the unseeded French pair of Severine Bremond and Nathalie Dechy 7-6 (7-4), 6-3 in the opening round at the weekend.
Up next for Black and Huber, who already have four doubles titles under their belts this year, are the winners of the other second round match between Americans Jill Craybas and Laura Granville and the pair of Russia's Elena Dementieva and Italy's Flavia Pennetta.
