American Samantha Larson became the "youngest foreign woman" to summit the world's highest peak at the age of 19, local newspaper The Rising Nepal reported on Friday.

Samantha Larson reached atop Mt. Qomolangma by noon Thursday. The expedition consists of six members and five high altitude workers.

"Ms. Samantha is the first youngest foreign woman to summit Mt. Qomolangma," Nepali Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation declared on Thursday.
