Zambian judoka Wakung'uma Shapa earned him a place in next year's Beijing Olympic Games after seizing a bronze medal at the 9th All-Africa Games, Daily Mail reported on Monday.

The bronze medal winner said it would be a great challenge to compete at the Olympics as it would be his first time.

"I expected the 2007 All-Africa Games would be my last," Shapa said, "but now I have qualified for the Olympics......I would be in Beijing to compete for the very last time."

Shapa won Zambia's first medal at the ongoing pan-Africa Games in a duel against Harme Zoungrana of Burkina Faso, which he said is his greatest achievement in his 11-year judo career.

All medal winners in the All-African Games, except for soccer teams, automatically qualify for the Olympics.
