Angel Matos of Cuba enjoyed a one-sided victory over his American opponent James Moontasri to win the men's over 80kg class taekwondo title at the Pan American Games on Monday.
Matos beat Moontasri 7-0 to take the gold. "The final was easier than I thought. I'm a fighter that his hard and I take advantage of my height to always keep a certain distance from my opponent. Now I'll focus my concentration for the Pre-Olympics which will be held in Manchester, England, on September."
Moontasri, who is only 19, said he was happy to have the chance competing at the Pan American Games: "I'm only 19 and I thought it was excellent to compete against the Cubans, since they have the best technique. I'm very happy to fight in Brazil."
