Nigeria and South Africa will face off again in the women's football final at the All Africa Games after they defeated their respective rivals in the semi-finals on Wednesday.

Defending champions Nigeria, nicknamed the Super Falcons, swept hosts Algeria with a 5-0 victory.

The Falcons, who received a boost before the semi-final with the arrival of 2004 best women footballer Perpetual Nkwocha, secured their win in the first half with four goals.

Nigerian forward Vera Okolo scored two goals in the 22nd and 24th minute.

In the other semi-final, South Africa cruised past Ghana's Black Princesses with a 2-0 win. In the 67th minute, Veronica Phewa scored a goal and helped South Africa's Banyana gain a lead.

One minute later, Ghana's hopes to make a draw received a big blow after Silla Owusu was expelled from the pitch. In the 71st minute, South African Mendy Dludlu secured the win with a second goal.

The final between Nigeria and South Africa will be staged on Sunday while hosts Algeria will vie for the bronze with Ghana on Saturday.

In 2003, Nigeria defeated South Africa 1-0 in the final for the gold.
