The Romanian Olympic and Sport Committee has filed the country's candidacy for staging the 2013 winter edition of the Olympic Festival of European Youth, the committee announced on Friday.
The Olympic Festival of European Youth is continental mini-Olympic Games meant for under-21s and being held every two years. The competition has two editions, the summer and winter respectively, held in different locations.
The protocol and rules of activity are the same as with the Olympics, except for the smaller competition programme.
The event, taken more and more seriously by all the European sport structures, is one of the competitions having launched a large number of the current Olympic champions.
