Canada coach Even Pellerud have being troubled by several injured players ahead of their opening game against Group C favorites Norway on Wednesday at the ongoing FIFA Women's World Cup.

"I'm still counting," Pellerud jokingly answered the question of how many players are still recovering at the pre-match press conference on Tuesday.

"The problem is that we have a number of injuries. That has been a big problem this year. I'm still thinking about who can play tomorrow's game and will decide later."

Facing his own country, the Norwegian seemed to hold a smooth mood.

"I'm looking at the bright sights of tomorrow's game. It's going to be interesting."

"Norway, by world ranking or by experience is the top team of the group. I'm excited to play them at the opening game. Four years ago we lost to Germany at the first match. I hope this time we can do better."

"Norway's style has changed during the past several years. They have a combative squad with individual skills and focus on passing. It's a little bit different. We know our position very well."

Pellerud said he would choose a balanced style to face the Scandinavians, who are likely to launch fierce attacks.

"I know they have the attacking power. But every team has it's own culture. It (the tactics) depends on the balance of the team."

Pellerud led Norway to 1995 World Cup glory, and his coming in 1999 has brought great improvement to the Canucks. They got their best results in the last World Cup, finishing at the fourth place.

"Our goal is to get the first place of the group and reach the quarter-finals. Then we'll try to get a medal."
