Ugandan boxer Kassim Ouma, the former IBF junior middleweight champion, is to drop to the welterweight division (147 pound) to challenge big names in the category.

"Yes. I know there are a lot of guys out there for me to fight. If any of the champions wants to fight me, I'll make 147 and kick some butt," Ouma was quoted by New Vision on Wednesday as saying.

"To all the fans, especially the ones in Uganda, I wasn't going to let you down and the next time I get into the ring, somebody will lose their head," said Ouma.

The Florida-based boxer was scheduled to fight undefeated former reality TV star Sergio "The Latin Snake" Mora this weekend, but the fight was cancelled after Rocky Juarez, one of the main card fighters picked a serious injury.

Ouma has been frustrated by top fighters in the super welterweight division (154 pound) and upgraded to the middleweight division (160 pound).

The Ugandan fighter last fought and lost to WBC/WBO middleweight champion Jermain "Bad Intentions" Taylor in December 2006.

Meanwhile, Africa light middleweight champion Badru "Mr Crush" Lusambya, stormed four places to number 14 in the latest WBC welterweight ratings released over the weekend.

Lusambya was the highest climber among the Ugandan pugilists rated by the world body's listings for August after the Kampala-based fighter's win over South African Lawrence Ngobeni last month.
