New Zealand head coach John Herdman said here Saturday that although his team suffered two losses in the FIFA Women's World Cup Group D, they would not give up in their last game against hosts China.

Desperate Denmark, who lost 3-2 to China in their Group D opener, beat the underdogs New Zealand 2-0 here on Saturday, keeping alive in the women's soccer tournament.

The Kiwis, who were whitewashed by Athens Olympics runners-up Brazil 5-0 on Wednesday, had little hope to survive the group after their second loss.

"We will play all out in the last game, making troubles to the hosts," Herdman said.

"In today's match, we played well in the first half but the Danes beat us through a world-class free kick in the second half," he said.

"I must say we have not been eliminated. We will take every match seriously," he noted.

New Zealand have never won a match in a FIFA women's event. Before the 2007 World Cup in China, their record was three defeats in World Cup 1991 (3-0 to Denmark, 4-0 to Norway, 4-1 to hosts China).
